Materiality in AS speakers extends far beyond the simple fact of physical matter to broadly encompass the emotional field related to a tactile experience of sound and space.
Each Architettura Sonora Speaker is unique. We extract the natural materials from the earth, so it is impossible to find matching pieces.
The types of stone,concrete or terracotta we use for our Speakers are an essential part of the sound that our elements emanate. Marble, Concrete, Terracotta, Granite, etc… are all excellent vehicles for sound, which changes and gives different effects and sensations depending on the material.
To create something new and radical you have to start from scratch, questioning the way speakers have been designed and conceived so far. We experience spaces not only by seeing but also by listening. We investigated the relationship of Sound and Nature and the meaning of landscape not as a background to a performance, but as a key component to enhance acoustic experiences.
Every project is customised to match the design and acoustical environment. We work with the client to select the most appropriate materials.
